Week 38 4/22 KIDNAPPED!
Buenas Tardes!
The mission decided to kidnap my son Elder Flores and
send him to Palao. But luckily a gringo got off the bus to replace him.
Elder Hedges from Huntsville is my comp for this change. He has 6 months
in the mission and is super awesome.
This week we finished off the lessons with Harley and she is going be baptized this Saturday.
I wrote a little letter about receiving revelation for ya'll.
The scripture that changed the world... James 1:5
5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
Many
of you may be thinking of the importance this scripture carries in our
church. If it wasn't for this scripture Joseph Smith would of never
asked God which church he should of joined, he would of never seen God
the Father and Jesus the Christ, and he would of never received the
authority of God or even restored the church and Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Despite James 1:5 meaning the restoration of the only true church on
the earth, it means a lot more to me than that, it means that Jesus Christ died and was resurrected on the 3rd day, that He guides not only the
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, but our lives too through
Personal revelation. Even though that we have a beloved prophet, Russell
M. Nelson, that receives revelation for the entire earth, we too need
personal guidance.
That's why God has sent the Holy Ghost, John
14:26. As I imagine all of you reading this email have been conferred
the most valuable gift, the Holy Ghost. After having hands laid upon
your head and hearing the precious words, "Receive the Holy Ghost", you offcially had the right to the his power, protection, and guidance.
As
a missionary, I thrive off the personal and general revelation to guide
this work here in Perú. In order to do so, I am required to constantly
keep myself physically and spiritually prepared.
Therefore I want to write how I have learned to be more susceptible to his whistperings.
Keep the Commandments and your covenants
Alma 7:23
23 And now I would that ye should be humble, and be submissive and
gentle; easy to be entreated; full of patience and long-suffering;
being temperate in all things; being diligent in keeping the
commandments of God at all times; asking for whatsoever things ye stand
in need, both spiritual and temporal; always returning thanks unto God
for whatsoever things ye do receive.
Be Humble
Moroni 8:26
26 And the remission of sins bringeth meekness, and lowliness of heart; and because of meekness and lowliness of heart cometh the visitation of the Holy Ghost, which Comforter filleth with hope and perfect love, which love endureth by diligence unto prayer, until the end shall come, when all the saints shall dwell with God.
Partake of the Sacrament
DC 20:77,79
77 O God, the Eternal Father, we ask thee in the name of thy Son, Jesus Christ, to bless and sanctify this bread to the souls of all those who partake of it, that they may eat in remembrance of the body of thy Son, and witness unto
thee, O God, the Eternal Father, that they are willing to take upon
them the name of thy Son, and always remember him and keep his commandments which he has given them; that they may always have his Spirit to be with them. Amen.
79 O God, the Eternal Father, we ask thee in the name of thy Son, Jesus Christ, to bless and sanctify this wine to
the souls of all those who drink of it, that they may do it in
remembrance of the blood of thy Son, which was shed for them; that they
may witness unto thee, O God, the Eternal Father, that they do always
remember him, that they may have his Spirit to be with them. Amen.
ASK
Matthew 7:7-8,
7 ¶ Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
3 nephi 18:18-21 18 Behold,
verily, verily, I say unto you, ye must watch and pray always lest ye
enter into temptation; for Satan desireth to have you, that he may sift
you as wheat. 19 Therefore ye must always pray unto the Father in my name; 20 And whatsoever ye
shall ask the Father in my name, which is right, believing that ye
shall receive, behold it shall be given unto you. 21 Pray in your families unto the Father, always in my name, that your wives and your children may be blessed.

1 nephi 10:19
19 For he that diligently seeketh shall find; and the mysteries of God shall be unfolded unto them, by the power of the Holy Ghost, as well in these times as in times of old, and as well in times of old as in times to come; wherefore, the course of the Lord is one eternal round.
Ponder
1 nephi 11:1
1 For
it came to pass after I had desired to know the things that my father
had seen, and believing that the Lord was able to make them known unto
me, as I sat pondering in mine heart I was caught away in the Spirit of the Lord, yea, into an exceedingly high mountain, which I never had before seen, and upon which I never had before set my foot.
