Week 62 11/25 - Zone Jerseys

Image
Beautiful Humans on earth, what's up? This week we had multi-zone which was super spiritual. We talked a lot about staying with the vine (the prophet) and how we need to always follow his precepts that he receives through revelation. We also designed jerseys as a zone and ordered them. We got the fake nike sign and Michigan state logo on them too jjaja. This next week we'll have transfers and I honestly have no idea who will leave. My comp and I have the same amount of time here in this area so it's a toss up.  I started training all the members for the LightTheWorld initiative so that we can get a bunch of referrals. The area presidency asked us to do 2-3 family home evenings every-single day until Christmas. I think with that this month is going to fly by super fast. I love you all and hope that each one of you can participate in LightTheWorld this year to be able to help someone that is in need. Pics of us doing servic...

Week 61 11/18 - Chiropratics and the beach

Is November really almost over? I can't really believe we are in the last half of November! I swear it was halloween like 1 week ago. It's starting to feel like Christmas here, not because it's burning hot but because all the stores and starting to put out the decorations. This week we had interviews with president which was way good. It's nice to be able to ask whatever question one would want to make and have an answer with scriptures and everything. I also went to the chiropractor which was nice. It's amazing how many times he can make your back and joints crack. While I was there my comp went to the beach with president and all the missionaries that had never seen the beach before.  I wanted to go again today to the chiropractor but we don't have very much time.  Well, we hit an absolute bottom in my area😢. Officially the first time in my mission with zero people with a baptismal date and zero new investigators during the week...

Week 59 11/4 - Peruvian Holidays = :(

Image
This entire week was a holiday vacation for halloween and the day of the dead, which means that now everyone cares about alcohol more than us haha. We did find 5 people that accepted a baptismal date but none of them came to church this Sunday. If we can't get them to church this week we'll just have to dump them for later missionaries. Lima decided that now it's summertime and now the sun is out from the morning until 5pm everyday. There's really nothing to combat it so we just keep on working.  Peruvians repping family search on their soccer jerseys This week on Friday we also got a call that the church was broken into so we had to run over there. When we got there, there were some members and a skinny and fat security guard cops jajja. They sucks really bad at their jobs and just walked in and started picking up the broken glass, the wedge to break the glass, and the broken security alarm jajja. There some of the smartest police men down ...

Week 56 10/14 - Season 11 Week 6

This is officially the last week of the transfer! Thursday we have Mulit-zone Conference so we did pretty much nothing but listen to the asistantes all day. Afterwards we had an English Teacher Meeting for all the English teachers. If you didn't know I'm the assigned English teacher for my zone. Its a pretty nice responsibility because it just involves teaching and doing follow ups unlike DL or ZL where they have to do like 10 times more. Sunday we went to our investigators house with a family that wanted to give away some baby cloths to her because she lives in a shack on the side of a hill and has a 2 month old baby. It was nice to see them donate a lot of stuff to someone that was in need. I sure shell appreciate it. Saturday we baptized Abraham! He's definitely one of the wards future missionaries. His parents aren't members because they work a lot but they are super chill, they just support him in whatever he does.  ...

Week 55 10/7 - What if this is it?

This week we baptized Miguel, Valeria, Jimena, and German! I don't have any photo right now because I forgot my camera so I'll have to wait for some members to pass them to me. Besides that the only other thing that happened was conferencia! It was amazing like always. I wish it could be so much longer, I feel bad saying that because when I was at home I always wished it was shorter. I hope you all could receive help in every part of your lives from God chosen prophet in these latter days.  I love you all and hope you can all take Elder Uchrtdofs advice and Start Now on the path of discipleship. --  Elder Tyler D. Week 54 9/30 Anghielo

Sorry I'm not gonna write much. They moved my pday to Wednesday this week because its the day we are going to go to the temple. They only gave us 20 minutes to be on the internet right now. But quick summary... WE BAPTISED ANGHIELO. We met him 13 days ago and he already accepted and progressed to the point where we and the lord wanted to be to be able to be baptized! He's a funny guy. I also loaned him my suit and shoes for the week so he could go to his new work while his suit is getting tailored, I hope I get those back haha. Thanks Ma for the peanut butter!  Love you all. God is a God of miracles that will never cease. Pray and ask so they he can bless and any aspect of your life! Love  --  Elder Tyler D. Kohlert

Week 58 9/23 Abraham The Prophet

Image
The weeks are starting the fly by like days. I honestly think its a hoax that 1 week is 7 days. They all start to mesh together and then all of a sudden its Monday again and I'm sitting in front on the computer screen trying to remember what happened during the other 6 days of the week! This week we received a miracle call from a contact from other missionaries. His name is Abram and is 14. He called us Friday at 10am saying that he has been waiting for us to come to his house since 9am. I guess the missionaries made an appointment and never told us. We went to his house and found him with his family. He decided that he wanted to be baptized this 19th of October to prepare for the trials that will come later in his life. His parents gave him permission and he also came to church this last Sunday in his sick Jordans and gucci jacket haha. Right now we are teaching 8 people with baptismal dates that will be baptized in the next 2 weeks! I guess a white Christma...

Week 57 9/16 Soccer Pie

Sorry guys but I don't have much energy because we just finished playing 3 hours of soccer so I'm a little tired right now. Just so you know, the miracles this week. We found 4 new investigators with a baptismal date. Right now we are working with 6 people with a baptismal date.  Sorry guys for the short email! Love you all! I know the atonement and offer us cleaning and fortifying powers! --  Elder Tyler D. Kohlert

Week 56 9/9 - Hills, Hills, and Hills

Image
Just finished my first week in my new area. It's all hills if you have realized from all the photos yet. Im already more tired than I've been in my entire mission but o well, what you gotta do?  Last baptism in Las Flores These are the trails that we walk almost all day. Look at all the potential investigators here! Climbing about 1 of 30 stairways in our area About half way up to the top when we found our first potential! The top of our area! We have 2 investigators that have a baptismal date that live up here! The houses here on the very top! My comp is from Bolivia and is in his 4 month in the mission. Pretty chill I guess. I'm a little to0 tired to think right now sorry guys hahah.  Right now we have 2 PFs with a baptismal date, this week we'll just be contacting a lot. Love Ya'll --  Elder Tyler D. Kohlert

Week 55 9/2 - Snap, Crackle, Pop

Image
Good Morning Chamitos! I'll start off with a "Sorry" for the boring email this week. We just finished week 5 of the change. We didn't find anyone new to teach or any baptisms this Saturday.  We decided to drop Samantha because we feel if we were to baptize her she would just go inactive because of all her volleyball contracts and schooling, I guess she just isn't quite prepared just yet.  Johann attended church this week and says he is ready to be baptized this Saturday! This week we just need to commit him to not working Sundays and then do his interview. He is a super awesome Venezuelan that believed in God but Jesus Christ was just kind of a fantasy thing for him. When we contacted him I decided to give him a Book of Mormon even before the first lesson. We came for the first lesson that week he had already read all of the book of alma. After reading that received a testimony of Jesus Christ and his role he plays in our lives.  Mirac...

Week 54 8/26 - 3 chamitas

Happy Monday!! This we didn't end up spending much time in our area but it resulted in a pretty successful week. Tuesday we had our zone meeting and then inter changes because my district leader was sick. My comp went and stayed the day with him while we worked in their area for the day. Then Wednesday we went to the mission offices to go to the temple with some investigators to show them how it was which was way awesome and then we headed over to the stake center to do their interviews for their baptisms.  Thursday we went to the mission offices again because my comp had to go to migrations to get his Peruvian ID so that took up all day too. Friday we did interchanges again but this time i stayed with my district leader and just studied and talked all day while he's healing. Saturday morning we did all the preparations for 3 baptisms that we had. The family told me that we had to heat the water so we carried our stoves from our room and were boiling water i...
