Week 51 7/29 - Trio Week

Tomorrow I'll will finish up my week in a trio with my DL and his comp. It was really fun at the beginning but then we started to get on each others nerves a little bit because its super hard to make decisions when there are 3 opinions haha but everything ended up going well. Saturday we baptized Milena, she didn't feel ready yet when we baptized her daughter but after seeing her daughters baptism and confirmation she decided that she was ready to take this first step.  We did a contacting activity because I hadn't worked there in over a week so it was slowing collapsing in on itself. After the activity we found 1 person that wants to be baptized and also we got a few more appointments for this week. My new comp that is coming is starting his 3rd transfer with me. I was really hoping for someone that had a little bit more time to teach me because I'm still a little lost here in Lima East haha. But I'm sure that I'll learn some valuable t...

Week 50 7/22 - Parasite and Sleep

It was a very eventful but also uneventful weekend. Friday we baptized Karen and Erika! It was awesome because they progressed so fast to love the gospel of Jesus Christ and the blessings that come with it. We meant them a little over 2 weeks ago and are already strong converts in the church. They were both referrals from a member and from the first lesson wanted to be baptized. There weren't a ton of people at their baptism but enough that it wasn't awkward.  Saturday we had a stake activity before Julios baptism. It was about old Peruvian dancing. All the wards made costumes and learned old dances from Peru. It was super awesome, I forgot my camera so I'll try to get some photos from the members. After the activity we went and baptized Julio with his family. He was also a referral from his family and wanted to be baptized whenever it was possible. Saturday my comp had some problems with a parasite and has been down for the count for a coupl...

Week 49 7/15 - Goal of 4?

Image
This week has been super productive. The Lord has blessed our area in ways that I never thought before. I received my new comp, Elder Madruga on Tuesday in the morning. Since he used to be the AP we ended up spending almost the entire day with the APs doing random stuff around the office and packing his stuff in their apartment. White Dude is my comp from brazil. Elder Alcas and his comp Elder Kimball from Lehi Wednesday and Thursday we had multi-zone almost the entire day too. It was awesome because the mission bought little caesars pizza for all the missionaries.  Finally after all that fun stuff we got to work. Us eating 1 and 1/4 chicken with 1.5 litros of soda This first thing we did was establish a goal for the one week we were going to be together. i thought that was kinda goofy because you cant really make a baptismal goal for a week. We decided on a goal of 4. I thought we were just joking around but I guess if you put your heart and soul into the ...

Week 48 7/8 - Elder Kohlert with an AP

Buenos dias hermosas personas! I have just finished my 8th transfer in the mission!!! Its been a fast 11 months and cant wait for the rest. Yesterday, the zone leaders called us about our transfers that we are going to have. It turns out the Elder Cheguen will be leaving and one of the assistants is going to come to be my comp for 3 weeks haha. Im done for hahaha. Our baptism fell through to the next week. but with that we also found 3 more people that want to be baptized August 3rd. But one of them doesn't live in our sector jajaj. It's been unbelievably difficult in the new mission. With the new hours and work pattern I'm practically dead every single night. I'm hoping by the next of the month I can adjust myself to it. Elder Cheguen  said goodbye to all the members here and they all gave us some pizza and a ton of food... I'm officially fat... once again. Also today we watched Big Hero Six which was amazing haha. We had food and watch...

Week 47 7/1 - Lima Este y Brasileños

We are officially part of Lima East!! President Amato and his wife preside over this mission for the last two years. They are super excited to have us to end their mission this next June. They are tech junkies. President Amato has a bunch of companies in the USA. He lives here with his 3 kids that all speak English, Spanish, and Portuguese! Thursday we went and ate tacos at their house with the asistentes which was the first time I've been in a mission presidents house. This week we have a training to learn about lima east and how to do what they do. We don't have baptisms this week but a couple families lined up for the 13th and 20th... if everything goes well. Please pray for them!! We also had interchanges a couple times this week. Ill send some pics of the pizza we ordered! Our focus this week is Hope and Faith... Ether 12 Love you all! Elder Kohlert
